He who seeks will find

January 11, 2019
Save for later!

There is a room in our souls that needs some peace and rest. I believe that “He who seeks will find.”

I don’t know how people who do not have God as their source make it every day.

The world today is not an easy place. We are under assault from the media and news shouting at us that the world is going to end or the markets are going to crash, or some other catastrophe awaits. It seems they really want there to be catastrophe too, so that there is always something pressing and horrible to talk about. That is exhausting to me. I can’t really watch it anymore.

What we need instead of all that drama and pressure is somewhere that is a refuge, a place of rest and peace.

Maybe you can find some peace with me today. When I need rest for my mind, I recite parts of the Psalm I learned as a child. It is God’s voice inside me still. “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He restores my soul.”

“He leads me beside still waters.”

I believe there is a God who loves us and is the constant in our everchanging world.

He is the same yesterday, today, and always. He is my refuge and my strength. And I know of no other way to get by than trust in his guidance. We all need refuge. We all need peace. We all need strength.

Whatever your politics or religion, a world without God is a mess and getting our inner houses in order helps the world at large.

Allow some prayer to pass your lips when you need some refuge and connect. He said, “he who seeks me will find me.” I believe that.

When we really look and seek truth, we will find God.

Jeremiah 29:12 and 13

12Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

Barefoot and writing,

Save for later!
