Psalm 91 is a prayer of protection & gives us strength for difficult times.
If I have learned anything from loss, tragedy, and difficulty it is that nothing solves problems like prayer. On every level, prayers uttered with boldness, humbleness, sincerity, and with confidence avail much. You can start today with Psalm 91. Line by line, there is peace in God’s assurances.
Truthfully, not much else clears the mind like sincere prayer to the living God. Even better, if you feel you can’t find your own words, God has given us words himself. Many prayers were written down by his people and carry power and strength. Praying scripture will calm your inner man, encourage your spirit man.
Certainly, Psalm 91 is one of those. It is both a prayer and scripture reading for hard times. Let God fill you with strength using the words he inspired.
As a matter of fact, Psalm 91 covers so much that when I feel afraid, weak, or confused, I pray these lines starting with “I” in the *whoever line.
Verses 1-6 of Psalm 91 as my prayer.
I dwell in the shelter of the Most High, and I rest in the shadow of the Almighty. With confidence, I say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust. His word assures me that He will save me from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He covers me with his feathers, and under his wings I find refuge. His faithfulness is my shield and rampart! So, I will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the plague that destroys by midday.
Verses 10-16 as prayer
No harm will overtake me, no disaster come near me. God will rescue me, protect me because I acknowledge his name. When I call him, he answers. He is with me in trouble, and delivers me and honors me. With long life he satisfies me and shows me his salvation.
Amen
