Stand up, cast off destruction, & stay free.

I don’t know about you, but all the laser focused negative and divisive news media coverage has affected my daily life. Seriously, it has been an effort to stay on the positive side of mental health. There is a heaviness that has fallen over America, and we need to rise up and cast it aside. In my opinion as is all my blog, just an opinion, to stay free, we must act now.

Heaviness and Destruction are not from God.

To stay free in all of its forms, we have to stand up and cast off the “Kill, steal, and destroy” warfare that is trying to take root in America.

When the media and loudest voices scream all day every day and into the night that we are horrible, our laws are horrible, our people are racists and America is the worst country, it is easy to get down. So down, that it is hard to get back up. But, we have to.

The real America is not horrible and racist at its core. That is a sad destructive lie meant to divide. No person, no country, no people are without stain or wrong doing. Not one man, woman, or country is perfect, but in America, at least you have a chance. You have opportunity. We are a haven for the truly oppressed.

Blaming everyone else or an entire race for everything wrong in your life is a lie meant to ensnare us, keep us small.

African Americans (or any person not White) do not need any Caucasian persons validation. We are all inherently valuable as designed by our Creator. White persons do not need validation from anyone else either. Each one of us is deeply important to God.

In fact, any general statement that claims that all people of one race are a specific thing (like racists) is also racist.

Clearly, you can’t fight racism with racism.

Instead, we as a people will fight racism with equality, balance, good will, prayer, and peaceful protest. It is also a better response to extend love, a helping hand, and forgiveness to everyone. Love never fails, but we fail if we allow evil to triumph any longer.

Kill, steal, and destroy is a sick and evil response.

Treating your neighbor or anyone you come in contact with basic decency is how God expects us to act. And, only the Godless or disturbed roam about looking for victims to attack.

Some defend the lawlessness and attacks on the weak or innocent as collateral damage or response to trauma. But, killing someone in response to someone being killed is senseless, evil, and weak.

One side of the debate would say, “Then, stop attacking or killing black people!” Another says “Stop killing or attacking law enforcement officers!” We should all say, “Do not attack or kill anyone!”

“Stop the killing, stealing, and destruction!”

It is our multi-ethnic/multi-racial population of decent hard working people who keep America running.

While we try to get back to work, we are still neighbors helping neighbors, a melting pot of cultures.

Destroying businesses helps no one, especially the neighborhoods where this has happened. These are real people who may not have insurance specifically for covering rioting and looting.

Why would any authority figure or leadership award burning down businesses, looting, and crime with anything but consequences? People will repeat what brings reward. It is human nature.

Let that sink in and be understood. People repeat whatever brings reward. Leaders will too. Remember that.

Teaching anyone to get results by assaulting others, burning, and looting will create a brutal culture.

I appreciate my neighbors, churches, local fire department, police department, hospitals, pharmacies, retailers, manufacturers, and restaurants. We are blessed by these structures of life. Our friends and neighbors work there. I wonder how people can burn them down, makes me think they don’t work for these establishments. Maybe they are in college or without a job, but clearly, they did not build something on their own just to watch it go down in flames.

Massive immigration shows that America is where people want to be. In fact, people come from all over the world to escape communism and failed socialist regimes, dictators, enslavement, and drugs. Our land of opportunity is known the world over.

You can change your life here. Or, apparently, you can whine, fight, and act out all day every day. But, it won’t last long. People will tire of this collective fit. It is not really bout race anyway.

Instead of the current chaos, the real America still helps a stranger, gives time, energy, and money to those that need it. We still care about each other, pray, serve, got to work, and volunteer.

On the whole, America is prosperous and giving, generous and full of good will, so why keep telling us day after day that we are the opposite?

So, we will not shut up, give up, or roll over. America is still the land of the free and the home of the brave and we will defend our way of life. It is our constitutional right to speak, worship, and assemble as we see fit. No one gets to tell us what we can and cannot say, or speak of. I may not agree with what you say or how you say it, but I will defend your right to say it.

If you have a valid issue, then discourse should be valued, expected. Discussing a matter expands the support, cleans out negative, and hones the message. To me, shutting down other voices is not defensible in the land of free speech.

Peaceful protests and civil discussion are an American tradition of change and have my respect. Gathering and exchange are a powerful visual to show strength and agreement.

However, to stay free from tyranny, we must speak up and denounce the anarchy and lawlessness that has overtaken the night in our cities.

First Amendment to the Constitution

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Our freedoms to speak and assemble are paramount to true freedom. However, using crime to affect change is like a toddler throwing a fit and the parent caving to keep the peace.

Ask yourself what is to be gained by infighting, fear, and suspicion. What person of color is helped by the images of destruction, the random person shouting for violence against another race, or people  running around instigating anarchy?

No one.

It just promotes more division.

Anarchy is not something to desire. Just ask anyone from a country that is torn by it. What happens is that those with the most money, brutality, and guns step into the vacuum and take over. The innocent, weak, and small of society like children, the elderly, or minorities do not fair well. Urban neighborhoods crumble and burn. Chaos ensues. Freedom is lost.

So, stay free. Reject anarchy and defend all your neighbors, not just the ones of the same color as you, black, white, brown or any shade in-between and beyond.

Barefoot and writing,

Kim
