Ten more feel good movies you can watch with your guy or girl.
This post is a follow up post to (click here) Dose of laughter stat! Top Ten, some of my favorite Feel Good movies.
Recently, I was part of a discussion concerning movies and the lack of recent movies that make you feel great. Personally, I want to feel better after a movie instead of depressed or angry. It seems Hollywood likes to bash happiness. The role of “movie” in our house is more like great books you return to again and again. It changes us, makes us think, and gives us a shot of good adrenalin, so here is my list of movies that speak to me every time I watch.
This list is not intended to be a family watch list, more grown up movies. The Movies are PG and PG 13 and all descriptions and comments are mine.
Try The Martian starring Matt Damon, (a botanist who gets stranded on Mars) for a dose of overcoming, human ingenuity, humor, and focus, Everyone should see this Incredible life affirming movie! Rated PG13
Letters to Juliet with Amanda Seyfried is a favorite for sassy humor. It is a sweet romantic comedy set in Italy about finding true love. Rated PG
Hitch
starring Will Smith, Eva Mendes, and the hilarious “making the pizza” Kevin James is good clean fun with a couple love stories and lots of comedy. Rated Pg13
The movie Sabrina with Julia Ormond and Harrison Ford is a 1995 remake of the original with Audrey Hepburn. Every time I watch I am reminded of how love changes us. It doesn’t hurt that part of the movie takes place in Paris. Rated PG
The Young Victoria starring Emily Blunt and Rupert Friend. This one is another love story based on Queen Victoria’s life and love. Historical, but feels modern, well done and beautiful. A surprise favorite. Rated PG

Passengers starring Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence. Rated PG13
Amazing setting with intriguing storyline. I love the incredible world created in this love story adventure set in space aboard a colony ship. A man wakes up from cryo early and finds himself alone.
Star Trek
is a great date movie! Follows the young crew before and how they became trekkers. Love story, great character acting. Stars Zoe Saldana, Chris Pine, and Zachary Quinto as young Spoc. Rated PG13
Music & Lyrics stars Drew Barrymore who meets Hugh Grant as an aging 80’s pop star. They team up to write a song and fall in love. Quirky romantic comedy rated PG13 .
Sweet Home Alabama is a romantic comedy starring Reese Witherspoon and Josh Lucas. Cute, downhome feel that pokes fun at the charms of growing up in the rural Alabama versus life in New York City. Also stars Candace Bergen as the mother in law and Patrick Dempsey as spurned boyfriend.
The Bridges of Madison County is a gorgeous film directed by Clint Eastwood
rated Pg13. This beautiful love story set in 1965 stars Meryl Streep and Clint Eastwood. It is honest, real, and touching. My husband said it was much better than he thought it would be when we watched it recently. I am reminded of the value of a great relationship with every view.
Happy movies! If you enjoy lists, curate your own list and leave it in the comments!
