Truth & spiritual weapons.

Save for later!

In America for the last year we have been faced with such division and deception that no one knows what the truth is anymore. At the forefront, the media lost all credibility repeating daily talking points instead of searching for truth. So, we are in a war of sorts, yet most aren’t sure who the fight is with. Honestly, most don’t know what the fight is really about either. Until recently, I didn’t understand the depth of the problem. So, like many, I sought answers through prayer, research, and deep conversation with all types of people trying to figure it out. In 2020, I also argued myself silly with people trying to argue away the veil of deception to no avail. However, to answer my own question and for those of you who are at a loss as to what to do now, I offer this response. The battle is spiritual, the warfare is spiritual and we need spiritual weapons to fight it.

I am aware that talk like this freaks some people out or makes others scoff, but that is immaterial. Truth is truth no matter what the circumstance. It is not situational, and the time for a soft touch is over. Time to get real, because what we face as a country needs truth. It doesn’t matter who believes you or me, ego needs to take a back seat.

We must stop trying to fight the spiritual with our own words.

Truth & spiritual weapons.

None of us have all the answers in these dangerous times, because most don’t really understand the battle and some have forgotten what we really fight.

I had forgotten too.

For when we fight battles with evil whose symptoms are all around us, we need something beyond resolve. We need something beyond resilience and the will to fight another day. If you wonder why prayer seems flat, difficult, or simply pointless sometimes, it is because this situation is no longer simply a Sunday School lesson, or casually saying the blessing at the dinner table.

The struggle over America or any entrenched problem we face is warfare. The struggle itself is spiritual warfare, and requires spiritual weapons.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12

Supernatural, heavenly, and effective weapons are available to those who call Jesus Lord or those seekers who cry out to God and ask for help. If we don’t know what it is we fight or how to fight, we are in a battle unarmed.

Instead of trying to convince people that God is at work, and that this battle is one of deception, try applying the blood of Jesus to the deception and let God open eyes.

My husband often repeats the quote, “A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.” We can talk ourselves purple in the face, but in this fight, it is more effective to apply prayer empowered by truth and Jesus.

It takes spiritual weapons to cut through the deception. God can and will open eyes. He can and will open hearts and minds, but it is up to us to pray for truth in an effective way.

Our war is more spiritual than physical. We don’t need to convince. Present the evidence yes, but what is more powerful and more effective is the Word of God, his Son.

When you are stuck or struggling and can’t seem to get on top of something or break out of a horrible situation, you need the one whose very existence is the ultimate weapon.

You need Jesus.

I often say that Jesus is the answer to every question, not to be flippant or to ignore your pain or struggle. My goal is simple. It is to change the narrative in your home, your family, your job or lack of one. You need the name above all names, the most powerful weapon. Even in great loss, horrible pain, there is power and hope in Jesus.

Jesus defeats the power of the enemy. That is the weapon that the enemy cannot stand against.

But, to employ it, isn’t always easy, because if it isn’t a part of our dialogue and sown into our spirit man, we forget or get sidetracked when confronted with something that is not God. When confronted with evil, we might began to doubt. Worse, we become complacent or distracted, so we need Jesus and the Word of God sown into our hearts. We need a relationship.

You can pray this, “I plead the blood of Jesus over my life and that of my family,” or “I apply the blood of Jesus” to whatever it is you are praying about.

For me at this moment, I plead the blood of Jesus over our nation and ask God to move in a mighty way for truth and justice. Open the eyes of every man woman and child to both the deception and the truth, and set the captives free.

“We wrestle not against flesh and blood.”

Barefoot and resolved to pray for truth and justice,

Kim
