We have a big weekend coming up and have been spring cleaning. It was cathartic, so I wrote about the big decluttering all week. Although we didn’t get as far as I had hoped, the huge chores were knocked out and we felt good about it. It is important that if you want something done, you make yourself do it, and then you can celebrate!
The best lesson I ever learned was that adults do things they don’t want to do to get results they want more.
You want it done, so make yourself do it.
Ug, but yes.
You just get up and go out and start. Do not think, do not agonize. Don’t procrastinate. Do not fantasize about what you would rather be doing. Just get it done.
The grand kids rooms needed some attention, so I got in there and organized some things. My husband and I also got started on the garage organizing, and then we cleaned up the side yard with raking, weeding, filling holes, and clipping.
Much sneezing followed, but it looks and lives much better.
It is a good thing to have the side yard all green and cleaned up. Dead branches are gone, random things that blew in or fell in the big storms in recent weeks are all cleaned up. Afterwards, I went outside and sat with the dogs between blogging, writing, house cleaning, and getting ready for company.
Since it looks so nice, I want to add some of those things that make a deck or side yard look great for entertaining or hanging out.

Things are looking good, so time to light the firepit and hang some lights! I like both of these ideas!

, but can’t decide. There are lots to choose from.
A job well done (adulting) gives me a sense of satisfaction.
Besides, then we eat good food and laze around and feel justified in our relaxing.
Because of all the physical labor this week, this morning I woke up tired. It was a lot for me, costs me more than I gain in work done. But it is also satisfying to overcome some fibromyalgia exhaustion and make something happen. We have been breaking it down into do-able parts and knocking it out a little at a time together.
However simpler it is to work together, big jobs take a lot more time than they used to as we get older.
I think I whined “Why can’t we hire somebody?” at least once or twice.
I didn’t sleep well either, because I had a crazy dream about not being able to remember any vital information except my first name. Shaken, I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t go back to sleep.
So the result of my productive week and sleepless night is that I’m tired. I don’t feel like doing any of the things on the agenda for the day and I need to get going. Hence the title and main idea of my random thought blog.
You want it done, so make yourself do it.
Then you can celebrate!
Barefoot, writing, whining, but getting started. Going to make myself do what I need to do on this beautiful sunny good things day.
